MIRROR, MIRROR!

Standing in front of the mirror looking at my reflection I was telling myself “Why is my nose so big, why don’t I have thigh gap, or abs, or why am I breaking out??”. This was my everyday self criticizing breakfast talk! I don’t know about you, but I did this to myself everyday almost every time I looked in the mirror. This habit of self criticizing myself was too common for me and in habited in my life. I would always find something lacking in my appearance.

But a slightest compliment from someone would make me smile, turn my day better, boost my confidence and esteem. I longed for compliments cause they made my day better whoever they were from, a friend, a stranger or a crush it didn’t matter cause I loved them. They were addicting for me like a toxic substance a person would take. But their shelf life was short, sometimes a day, a few hours or just few minutes.

I soon realized that if compliments was something I longed for to make me feel better, then why don’t they come from a person who would be there with me 24/7: ME? The only person who needed to compliment me was I, myself. That compliment would last longer, and could be restocked at any time of the day.

My perception had changed, I realized that sometimes you need to view yourself from someone else’s point of view. Someone who doesn’t care how you look and judge what you are just skin deep. That’s when you realize and see that you are enough, you are pretty, confident, smart, talented and most important of all YOU ARE UNIQUE, not made to fit that ideal type because that is just absurd!!

WHY TRY TO FIT IN, WHEN YOU ARE MEANT TO STAND OUT?

No, I didn’t get those abs I longed for or that thigh gap which I complained about not having or a perfectly sculpted nose either. But I started looking in the mirror without being critical of the person standing in front and told her “You are beautiful just the way you are and You are enough”.

Your biggest supporter is you yourself. If you don’t like the body shape that you have developed in the last few months, start working out. Change what you can and accept what you cannot. It’s easy said than done. But that’s the only way to stay happy inside to reflect outside. 🙂

Hey there Old Sport! I’m K&L from The Millionaire’s Digest who is the Author, Publisher & CEO of The Millionaire’s Digest, and I just want to apologize for not being able to publish all the articles fast enough on The Millionaire’s Digest. Believe me, when you’re in college and you’re up past midight writing papers every night, you know how hard it can be to also run a team of more than 300+ people who are constantly uploading posts every day. That brings me to my next point Old Sport.

I would just like to ask you before I get ready to have our magazine published if you would still like to be in it. I mean, I mean, I don’t want you to feel like I’m forcing you to do this because I know I wouldn’t like it if someone made me do something I didn’t want to do either. But I mean, I just wanted to make sure because you are one of my team members, and I just didn’t want you to feel left out when you see it go live in all the stores!

Also, please know that if you do choose to do this, you do this for yourself, not me. I do perfectly fine for an individual, as you know that I could’ve launched this myself and not let anyone on it. But I’m not that type of person (Nor will I ever will be). This is just something that I want to be able let you guys do, so I can help you get more exposure to your blog!

    Sincerely,
    K&L
